Every listing includes an appraisal with comps. Buying closes through reputable third-party escrow; see how domain escrow works.
The short answer
Premium domains for sale are hand-picked aftermarket names that already carry value before a site exists on them: short, memorable, keyword-strong, or all three. On the board above, every name is priced against real sold comps and available three ways: buy now at a fixed price, make a comps-backed offer, or bid in a live auction. Each purchase closes through third-party escrow, so the name transfers only after funds are confirmed. If you are budgeting, our guide to how much a premium domain costs sets out the real 2026 price tiers and the registry-premium renewal trap. For invented startup names rather than keyword names, see brandable domain names for sale. If you own names instead of buying them, see where to sell domain names and compare venues on commission and reach, or go straight to selling a premium domain for the net-proceeds math on a five-figure close.

What makes a domain premium
A premium domain is a name that already carries value before a website exists on it: short, memorable, keyword-strong, or all three. The board above is curated on exactly those signals, the same four our domain appraisal tool measures. If a name made the board, the data made the case.

Questions buyers ask about premium domains
What is a premium domain name?
A premium domain is an aftermarket name that already carries value before any website exists on it, because it is short, memorable, keyword-strong, or all three. It is owned by someone rather than available to register, so buying one means a marketplace purchase, an auction bid or a negotiated deal with the current owner. Price is set by comparable sold names, not by a registration fee.
How much do premium domains cost?
Most premium domains that change hands on marketplaces sell in the mid three figures to low five figures. Short one-word .com names and category-defining .ai names run far higher, into six and seven figures. The realistic way to price any specific name is to look at three to five sold comparables of the same extension, length and structure from the last 24 months, which is what domain sales history research gives you.
Are premium domains worth the money?
For a funded business, usually yes, because the name is a permanent asset that shortens every later marketing conversation and cannot be replicated by competitors. For a pre-revenue side project, usually no. The test is whether the name saves more in recall, trust and ad efficiency than it costs, over the years you will hold it.
How do I buy a premium domain safely?
Close through third-party escrow so the transfer and the payment release together, never by direct wire to a seller you do not know. Confirm the seller controls the name at its registrar before funding, agree who covers transfer costs in advance, and keep the negotiation in writing. On any four-figure or larger purchase, escrow is the single control that matters.
What is the difference between a premium domain and an expired domain?
A premium domain is being actively sold by an owner who values it, priced against comparable sales. An expired domain is one whose registration lapsed and is being released back to the market, usually bought at auction or by drop-catch backorder. Expired names can be far cheaper, but they carry history you have to check, including backlink quality and any prior trademark use.
